Lauren Marie is an interdisciplinary researcher and practitioner in voice.

Studying Linguistics and Japanese at The University of Sheffield piqued her interest in phonetics, providing links to accent and dialect work. This led her to pursue a Masters in Professional Voice Practice at The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
   Lauren has worked in professional voice pedagogy institutionally and privately, both in the UK and internationally, whilst maintaining her research into Language and Linguistics.

In 2024 Lauren became Principal Lecturer in Voice at BIMM University Birmingham where she teaches on the Acting for Stage and Screen Degree.

Lauren effortlessly blends her voice and movement training, combined with her knowledge of phonetics and the Japanese language, to create varied and unique voice workshops for people to find a sense of self-expression within their voice and body.

Lauren specialises in Skinner Release, Laban for Voice and Linklater Method.

Lauren is also training in Shotokan Karate, practising Butoh and often integrate breath work from both yoga and martial arts into her teaching.
